Professional Development - and other services

NASSPE offers a wide variety of professional development offerings and other services, to schools - both single-sex and coeducational in format - and to school districts. Since 2002, NASSPE trainers (primarily Dr. Leonard Sax) have led professional development sessions for more than 300 schools and school districts around the United States, Canada, and Mexico. You can get a sense of a typical professional development seminar by downloading either the outline for a seminar specifically designed for teachers in all-girls classrooms or the outline for a seminar specifically designed for teachers in all-boys classrooms. Of course we also offer workshops for schools which are adopting both all-girls and all-boys classrooms. All our workshops can be customized to the needs and interests of the faculty at a particular school.

Most of these workshops are led by Dr. Sax. However, some are larger conferences where Dr. Sax may be a featured speaker, while teachers from public schools with single-sex classrooms conduct breakout sessions: see for example this June 2008 workshop hosted by Stetson University in Orlando, Florida.
